Stormwater Preparedness: Are You Ready for Stormwater Season?
Stormwater season is upon us! Under the current Industrial General Permit (IGP) permit holders are required to collect and analyze stormwater samples from each discharge location for two Qualified Stormwater Events (QSEs) within the first half of each reporting year (July 1 to December 31), and two (2) QSEs within the second half of each reporting year (January 1st to June 30th).
Lab-to-State Portal for Lead and Copper Data

The State of California is transitioning to a new electronic submittal process for Lead and Copper data via a Lab-to-State (LTS) Portal. Babcock Labs participated in beta testing of the State's new LTS Portal and was one of the few labs to be first registered on the Portal.

Lead in Our Schools: The Case for Testing
Many school districts have participated in the State Water Resources Control Board’s new lead testing program, which requires local water agencies to provide free lead testing to any K-12 schools they service. One such school district, San Diego Unified, has identified yet another one of its schools as having elevated levels of lead in drinking water fountains.
