Hazardous Waste & Soils Analyses
Babcock Labs provides for the analysis of solid waste, oils, sludges, and hazardous materials. Tests performed include waste characterizations, such as pH, flash point, cyanide, and sulfide bearing wastes.
Hazardous Waste
A wide variety of inorganic and organic determinations are also available following SW-846 methods, in addition to:
- Toxicity Characteristic Leachate Procedure (TCLP)/ZHE
- CA Waste Extraction Test (WET)
- Corrosivity
- Reactivity
- Ignitability
Total & Extractable Contaminants
- Hexavalent Chromium in cement products and materials
- Lead in paint and filters
- Mercury in materials and exhaust
Soils & UST/LUFT
In support of the construction industry, Babcock Labs tests soils for saturated resistivity, redox potential, sulfide, sulfate, chloride, and other minerals of concern.
Our laboratory also specializes in the analysis of soils for environmental needs, including the analyses performed after the removal of underground fuel storage tanks. Specific analytical capabilities in this category include Hydrocarbons (total volatile and semi-volatile), benzene, toluene, xylenes, & ethylbenzene (BTEX), methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE), Gasoline Range Organics and Diesel Range Organics. Fuel Tank packages are also available.
