On Friday the Riverside Board of Supervisors voted to rescind all of the county-wide stay-at-home orders that went into effect in early April and were in addition to Governor Newsom’s restrictions. This decision, which includes relaxing the County Health Officer’s required use of face coverings, will in no way change the requirements for proper PPE, facemasks, and social distancing at Babcock Labs.
We are all performing an essential function to protect the public health and as such, Babcock Labs requires all employees and all clients visiting our facility to wear a CDC-recommended type of face covering.
At this time, we continue to utilize our outdoor sample receiving area and request all visitors wait in their vehicle until sample receiving staff are available to assist them. Anyone arriving at Babcock Labs without an appropriate facemask will need to leave and return with a mask. To avoid unnecessary delays in sample delivery and acceptance, please ensure that any person submitting samples for your organization has an appropriate face covering.
The threat of Coronavirus infection has not changed, nor has the importance of protecting the health and safety of our employees and our clients. Please keep in mind that Riverside County has the second highest number of Covid-19 cases in the State, and the third highest rate of infection from the virus. This is no time to relax our vigilance and concern for the safety of our colleagues.
To be clear, Babcock staff have been instructed not to accept samples from individuals who fail to wear a mask. Anyone refusing to wear a face covering will be asked to leave the property immediately.
